At Coleman County State Bank, we have long believed that small businesses are the lifeblood of our community. They are owned and operated by our neighbors, local entrepreneurs who are not only invested in their personal successes, but that of the community’s and its future. As a community bank, we strive to support such small business owners, to bring to life their dreams of operating independently and flourishing. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve adapted quickly to this changing climate and the immediate financial needs of our small business customers. We’re working countless hours to ensure all our customers quickly receive funding from the Paycheck Protection Program, helping keep their businesses alive and their employees paid. We welcome the opportunity to help you and your business succeed.
Adam Lancaster, pictured here, presented the Junior Achievement (JA) of Abilene 2019 Volunteer of the Year Award at its annual breakfast. The fundraising event, which Adam also chaired, successfully raised $42,000 in donations and reached over 3,500 students in the Big Country. Adam joined our bank in 2019 as a Senior Vice President in commercial lending and currently serves on the JA Board of Directors.
JA is a volunteer-based organization that is credited with empowering and educating young minds in “financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship training.
Our very own Tammy Withers, Vice President of our mortgage center, and Misti Collier, Branch Manager for our loan production office (LPO), were event chairs for the 2019 Cattle Barron’s Ball. Under their leadership, the single-night fundraiser greatly surpassed their goal and successfully raised over $300,000 to benefit the American Cancer Society.
Misti Collier, LPO Branch Manager, was awarded by the Abilene Chamber of Commerce with its 2019 Chairman’s Award at the 111th Annual Meeting and Membership Celebration. Recognition was given to individuals who have far exceeded their participation within the Abilene Chamber. Year after year, Misti has consistently served the Abilene community through various organizations such as Leadership Abilene, Abilene Cattle Barron’s Ball, Junior Achievement of Abilene, and Abilene Young Professionals, to name just a few.
The United Way of Abilene awarded Coleman County State Bank with the 2019 Small Business Campaign of the Year. The bank matched 100% of donations raised by the 22 employees at the Abilene branches, which resulted in a 102% increase in participation from 2018. We are proud of our ongoing relationship with the United Way of Abilene, which is integral in meeting the health, educational, and financial needs of our neighbors in 19 counties in West Central Texas.
The annual PRCA Rodeo, one of the largest events in the county, has been held at the Coleman Arena for more than 80 years. In 2018, the bank sponsored the addition of box seats above the newly-named Coleman County State Bank Arena's bucking chutes, allowing for a front-row experience of the action. It also elevated the rodeo “to the next level,” Coleman Rodeo Association President, Heath Hemphill, told Coleman Today in May 2017.
Coleman County State Bank has always been a loyal supporter of rodeo, ag, and 4H programs in our community. We believe this expansion to the arena further solidifies our support of and belief in the importance of rural
